Outline of the case A consumer purchased a wallet costing USD 179 through an overseas online shopping mall. Due to a shipping carrier’s faults, however, the goods have been delivered to a wrong address. Though he filed complaints to the seller as well as the shipping carrier, none of them have presented plausible explanation or demonstrated subsequent actions for the wrong-delivery. Hence the consumer requested the seller to nullify the subject transaction and refund the amount he already paid.
Final outcome We have informed the seller of the very fact of consumer complaint, together with relevant order and shipping information. During the talks with the seller, we have pointed out the subject goods were delivered to the address with Zip Code of OR 97220, which was other than OR 97230 clearly instructed by the consumer. Confirming the wrong-delivery, the seller has agreed to revoke the subject transaction and refund the amount concerned as per the consumer’s request.
