Question:

I booked accommodation at a guesthouse in Seoul via online booking agent. Due to safety concerns in the aftermath of the outbreak of coronavirus across the country, I’d like to cancel my booking. May I get my money back?


Answer:

Please contact the online booking agent first. If you don’t get positive answers from the booking agent, call the guesthouse directly. In case the guesthouse is a legally registered business entity in Korea, we may help you. Since KCA mediation is a voluntary process requiring the good faith and willing participation of both parties to a dispute, however, you might not get the money back if the guesthouse refuses our mediation.
